InDIYpendent Culture Fair

Like underground art? You would have loved the InDIYpendent Culture Fair. The 1st annual, it was a fundraiser to benefit youth culture in the Napa Valley. Sponsored by the Napa Valley Arts Council and various galleries in the Napa Valley, it was definitely an eye opener for me. I had no idea there was so much diversity in our valley!
The fair was held at an old dusty warehouse. In the parking lot was a portable skateboard park, a DJ, a taco truck and pony rides. As you entered the building, students from Napa College painted on 3 or 4 huge canvases. Inside was a full art gallery, a lecture hall, a bike fixing area, lots of crafts to do, craft vendors, garbage art, a full stage. There were belly dancers and baby goats. I never realized how many talented young people there were around here. For more information on this event for next year go here .
